Excel2GED-family.xls 1.0 is a Excel file that aids you in recording and converting family relationship data into a genealogy standard ‘gedcom’ format, along with specifying family relationship. The Gedcom generation commences simply by a push of VBA coded macro. It’s different from the other Excel2gedcom converters as it not only draws the relationships but also adds individuals to gedcom file and doesn’t require re-adding the family information in family tree programs. The Excel2GED-family supports preserving interrelationship information as long as a spouse/parent is indicated. Further, it also features the schema’s extensibility to every field from gedcom format and even beyond. The file lets you specify family information in various ID fields such as name, birth place, birth date, wedding place, wedding date, death place, death date, father name, father ID, mother name, mother ID, spouse name, spouse ID, etc.

Using the Excel2GED-family.xls 1.0 you can easily transfer your family information in gedcom format without going through any complex processes or applications. The Excel file opens with Help information to guide users in filling up the information and exporting the data with gedcom format. The first sheet contains the format set for entering the family data. It includes different fields relating names, IDs, Birth, marriage, death, photo, parents, etc. As you make changes, different fields work accordingly and display the content as per the data entered by you. Like if you’ve changed the Father, Mother or Spouse ID, the ‘Listed’ fields also would be automatically altered. Even, when you add a new field for recording relevant data, its related fields would be indicated accordingly to let your enter details as per specifications. When you’ve entered the entire necessary data, just press ‘Export To GEDCOM’ button and save the file.
